Premium AEROTEC honours outstanding suppliers

For the first time ever, the aviation industry supplier Premium AEROTEC has honoured outstanding suppliers for the services they provide. In this way the company is expressing its high level of customer satisfaction. In the course of a supplier conference, three suppliers were awarded trophies in the categories delivery reliability, quality and industrialisation.

Premium AEROTEC evaluated the services provided by all of its suppliers using a range of criteria. These included in particular sustainable delivery performance, outstanding quality management and the successful industrialisation of components and work packages. Three companies received awards:

Jamco for its constant delivery reliability. The Japanese company supplies Premium AEROTEC with CFRP crossbeams for the A380 programme and will, in future, also supply struts and junction parts for the A350 XWB.

Kaiser Aluminium for outstanding service in respect of product quality over many years. For many years now the US American company has supplied Premium AEROTEC with aluminium products for various aircraft programmes.

Flamm Aerotec for the successful industrialisation of new work packages. The German company has also supplied Premium AEROTEC for many years, this time with profiled parts and assemblies.

“A reliable and effective supply chain is essential for our joint success as well as our continued competitive capability,” said Dr. Matthias Mette, Head of Purchasing at Premium AEROTEC, speaking at the awards ceremony. “We are delighted to be able to honour three partners who have played a significant role in supporting us on our way in Jamco, Kaiser Aluminium and Flamm Aerotec. With these awards we are showing our appreciation for the services they provide and their commitment.”

Premium AEROTEC generated revenues of around 1.9 billion euros in 2014. The company’s core business lies in the development and production of metal and carbon fibre composite aircraft structures. The company has manufacturing sites in Augsburg, Bremen, Nordenham and Varel in Germany, as well as in Braşov in Romania.
