Andreas Fehring to become the new head of production at Premium AEROTEC

Andreas Fehring (52) joins the executive board of Premium AEROTEC, an important aerostructures supplier, as head of production. With effect from 1 August, he will succeed Michael Colberg (50) who has resigned from his office.

Andreas Fehring is currently responsible for the A350 version -900 as programme manager at Airbus. In this position he has been closely collaborating with the programme management of Premium AEROTEC since several months.

Günter Butschek, the chairman of the supervisory board of Premium AEROTEC, said: “With Andreas Fehring we have won an experienced aviation manager. Namely because of his successful work in the A350 programme, he is the right person to ensure the production ramp-up of this programme, to which Premium AEROTEC attaches great importance, and to stabilise the entire production and to make it more efficient.”

Butschek also thanked the former head of production: “Michael Colberg has shown great commitment and personal participation and has set important foundations on which Andreas Fehring can build now.”

Andreas Fehring has a broad management experience in aviation industry: After mechanical engineering studies he started as a development engineer at Airbus at the age of 26. A wide range of tasks in development, sales and programme management at Airbus followed. From 2006 onwards he was in charge of the A380 programme management and is now the programme manager for the A350 version -900.


Premium AEROTEC generated revenues of around 1.6 billion euros in 2013. The company’s core business lies in the development and production of metal and carbon fibre composite aircraft structures, as well as the associated equipment and production systems. The company has manufacturing sites in Augsburg, Bremen, Nordenham and Varel in Germany, as well as in Braşov in Romania.
